Wikihow is a collaborative writing project (like the wikipedia) used to build how-to manuals.  With everyone’s contributions, numbers of free resource can be found to help millions of people by offering solutions to the problems of everyday life.

For example, you can find an article of the process tie Guan Yin Tea, or a one about being beautiful.  Enjoying this cool site.

Five reasons why scientific research is cool

Daniel Gorelick concluded the five reasons why scientific research is cool, do you agree?

  • You’re encouraged to find flaws in people’s work and correct them
  • No dress code – I didn’t know how to tie a proper tie knot before I came to the State Department
  • Make your own schedule – no 8:30 to 17:15 with a 45 minute requirement for lunch. Many grad students work 12:00 to 20:00.
  • Constant intellectual stimulation
  • Cutting edge exploration – make a discovery and you are the first person to know something nobody else knows

High-school classmates meet again in this labor day

My three high-school classmates Lu, Feng and Xie, who all work in Guangzhou now, have visited me in this labor day. Except Lu, I have never met the other two classmates in the past ten years after graduating.

They are changed with different lives. Lu is a bank clerk, Feng is an investment analyst while Xie is a teacher. There is large difference between high-school classmates and college classmates. College classmates generally work in the same field but high school classmates do not. Thus, in some degree, keeping touch in high school classmates can change our views more.
