flickriverv: 非常好的flickr badge创建网站

我的大多数照片都存放于flickr上。但对于照片在其他网站上的展示一直感到头疼。今天突然发现flickriverv这个网站，感觉非常的好。输入你的flickr用户名或者ID等就可以轻轻松松的创建自己的badges，很方便到其他网站展示，包括论坛的签名。有兴趣的不妨用用。网站地址在此：http://www.flickriver.com/。顺便展示下我的badge。

今天可能遭遇中国特色木马一回，电脑安全要关注

在网上随便Google了个FTP软件并安装后，电脑便开始每隔一段时间弹出IE的广告页，并且每次弹出的广告网站内容还不断的变换。我立马意识到可能中毒或木马了。但由于办公室的电脑是政府采购，装的不知什么版本的杀毒软件（隐去姓名！）一直也没在意中毒之事，现在立即查杀却发现该杀毒软件并没有反映，于是重新找了个半年免费的Mcafee装上，扫描系统，提示中毒，查杀并删除可能的文件。

然而当开机重启后系统却提示某某文件被干掉了，很多程序不能启动，于是我又意识到老麦可能太凶了，好人坏人一起枪毙了。于是又开始Google，down了个文件放到symstem32里，终于能正常启动，不过那可恶的广告页仍然一会儿光临一次，不愿离开。看来老麦水土不服，中国的事情管不彻底，于是决定相信中国的查杀工具，找了个360给电脑来个云杀木马，结果不出意外，木马们乖乖就范，举手投降。感谢人民感谢党，中国特色的木马可能还是要中国的东西来管制，不服不行呢，有图为证:

A good and free screen capture tool

There are couples of screen capture tools, such as the basic PrtSc key in our computer keyboard used in Windows OS. However, the new free PrtSc software introduced today is an inspired one that I have never seen before. As described in the homepage of this software, it is not another cheesy, spreadsheet-looking one. This one offers directness, ease of use, and does it with style.

The main features of this software include accessable through the PtrScr key, capturing different shapes of screen and even mouse cursor, exporting picture file with different formats such as saving them as JPG, PNG, or BMP.

Tracking updates of scientific journals with Google reader

Google reader is becoming more useful for us following news in internet. In scientific research, it is also useful for us tracking updates of journal articles. Of course, we should understand what is a RSS and how to use Google reader subscribe to RSS of journals.

What is a RSS feed

RSS or atom feeds are a file format used to distribute contents of frequently updated works, such as blog entries, news headlines, audio, and video, in a standardize format. They benefit readers who want to subscribe to timely updates from favored websites or to aggregate feeds from many sites into one place.

How to subscribe to a RSS feed with Google reader

Google reader is one of the most famous online software used to subscribe to news feeds. It is welcomed because of its user friendly UI. Now, many famous scientific journals have begun to provide RSS feeds, which make us more available for tracking their updates without frequently visiting their websites or databases. In browsers, such as firefox and opera, a RSS icon will occur in the address bar when a journal provide RSS fees. So if you have a Gmail account, you can use the free reader software online and subscribe to the RSS feed when clicking the RSS icon simply.

Why only Google reader

There are lots of ways to subscribing to RSS feeds. Google reader is my best choice because it has more attractive traits, such as adding start to a special post or sharing some contents to your friends. Thus, when you use Google reader to track journal articles, you can give a comment to a paper you favorited or share it to others and discussing commonly.

Freebies for designer and blogger from smashing magazine

Smashing magazine recently released a set of freebies (including icons, wordpress themes) useful for blogger and web developer. These icons pay close attention to the smallest details, look original, cool and still remain recognizable, commented by Smashing magazine. Of course, there are some insights from the designer himself:

The design of icons for this set was definitely the most difficult one in my career. I never had more trouble while the makin’ was in progress. My computer exploded 2 times, I had several losses in my family, my airport and modem were damaged… etc. The set was supposed to be launched like the year before, but considering all the difficutes that have happend, I consider myself one persistan bastard! Plus I was attacked by a dog in my house while i was doing the set… So I give the most hardest, and mind blowing set of icons I ever made!
