（1）Darwin-China 200 Conference

The year 2009 marks the 200th anniversary of Charles Darwin’s birth and the 150th anniversary of the publication of "On the Origin of Species". Darwin’s discoveries of evolutionary mechanisms and facts have made immeasurable contributions to the development of life sciences. His theories of biological evolution have been widely disseminated in China with far-reaching impacts.

To celebrate this special moment in history, we jointly organize the Darwin-China 200 Conference in October 24-26, 2009 at Peking University. Internationally renowned scientists will speak on a wide range of exciting topics, including the comparison and dynamics of genomics, molecular evolution and speciation, reconstruction of phylogeny, biogeography, the origin of major groups and its paleontological evidences. We welcome you to join us for this special event.

（2）2009国际基因组学大会

正如科学家们在2006年于杭州举行的第一届国际基因组学大会（ICG I）上预测的一样，DNA测序技术在过去的几年里得到了飞速的发展，测序通量在成倍增长而成本在成倍降低。我们离个人基因组时代究竟还有多远？地球上所有在科研、经济和生态上具有重要意义的物种都会很快被测序吗？在2009年第四届国际基因组学大会（The 2009 International Conference on Genomics (ICG IV)-Human and Beyond）上，来自各方的专家在汇报基因组学领域最新科研进展的同时将会深入探讨这些问题。此次基因组学大会由深圳华大基因研究院和香港科技园联合主办。大会旨在促进从事基因组学研究的科学家，生物制药业界，基金会及政府决策机构之间的交流，探讨当前世界上基因组学研究领域的最新进展及其对人类未来的影响。届时将有国内外在基因组学和基因组测序技术领域内卓有建树的科学家作精彩报告。
